The Old Town on the Screen. Warsaw’s Film Phenomena with Błażej Brzostek

A walk with Professor Błażej Brzostek—a historian and expert on postwar Warsaw. What stories unfolded on the streets of the Old Town, and how did they make it onto the screen? Each stop represents a different film and a different “phenomenon of Warsaw.” Participants will see locations well-known from the cinema: iconic frames and spaces that gained new meanings on screen. They will examine how the Old Town “played a part” in stories about the city’s reconstruction, everyday life, and transformation, and how these images continue to influence how we perceive Warsaw today.
