Szapocznikow and Falender. Water or Fire: What Shapes the Fluidity of Sculptural Composition?

A lecture by Agata Małodobry titled “Szapocznikow and Falender. Water or Fire: What Shapes the Fluidity of Sculptural Composition?”. A meeting around Barbara Falender’s exhibition titled “From Water”, presented at the Alina Foundation until August 2, 2026. Barbara Falender’s studio neighbours the Foundation’s headquarters, located in Alina Szapocznikow’s former studio. The lecture will become a reflection on the symbolic meeting of the two sculptors associated with Warsaw, and on the interpenetration of their sensitivity, matter, and ways of thinking about form.
