Tour of the temporary exhibition “Freedom and Truth. Father Jerzy Popieluszko”

Exhibition organized on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the martyrdom of Father Jerzy Popiełuszko. Through paintings, photographs and collected artefacts it brings us closer to Fr Jerzy’s family home in Okopy, the time of his studies at the Warsaw Theological Seminary and his compulsory service in a military unit in Bartoszyce. It is about Popiełuszko’s priesthood and commitment on behalf of workers, students and the medical service. It recalls the painful moments of the abduction and disclosure of information about his death, and reflects the mood of in the society at the time—from sadness to the glory of his elevation to the altar in 2010.

Tickets: each day of the Birthday, we will issue 20 free tickets each on the slogan “Birthday of the Old Town”; we do not conduct sign-ups, one person can collect up to 2 tickets to use on a given day during the museum’s opening hours.
