Young Warsaw and the Secrets of a Historic Townhouse

[PL]: Magdalena Abakanowicz created a visionary project of arboreal architecture in 1991. At the exhibition at the Katarzyna Napiórkowska Art Gallery, one can see, among other things, an original sculpture from this breakthrough cycle and the artist’s drawings. On this occasion, you can also learn the history of the gallery, existing since 1989, where exhibitions of Maria Anto, Wojciech Sadley, Edward Dwurnik, Antoni Fałat, or Franciszek Starowieyski took place. An additional attraction is the story of the tenement house at 19/21 Old Town Market Square and its furnishings: a Gothic portal and a unique stove by Helena and Roman Husarski, constituting Warsaw’s cultural heritage. The curatorial tour will be led by Dr. Justyna Napiórkowska – an art historian and political scientist. [ENG]: In 1991, Magdalena Abakanowicz created a visionary project of arboreal architecture.
