Abakanowicz for Paris | Curiosities of a Warsaw tenement house

[EN] In 1991, Magdalena Abakanowicz created a visionary project of arboreal architecture. The exhibition at the Katarzyna Napiórkowska Art Gallery features, among other works, an original sculpture from this groundbreaking series, as well as the artist’s drawings. On this occasion, you can also learn about the history of the gallery, which has existed since 1989 and hosted exhibitions featuring Maria Anto, Wojciech Sadley, Edward Dwurnik, Antoni Fałat, and Franciszek Starowieyski. An additional attraction is the history of the historic townhouse at the Old Town Market Square 19/21 and its interior features: a Gothic portal and a unique ceramic stove designed by Helena and Roman Husarski, which are part of Warsaw’s cultural heritage. A curatorial tour will be led by Justyna Napiórkowska, PhD, art historian and political scientist.
