A Society Story. 70 Years of the Gallery at 2 Old Town Market Square

A guided tour of the anniversary exhibition prepared to mark the 70th anniversary of the first exhibition inaugurating the gallery’s activities at the Old Town Cultural Centre, which took place on 30 June 1956. The invited artists—Klaudia Figura, Piotrek Kowalski, Piotr Maciejowski, and Ada Adu Rączka—will collaboratively arrange the gallery space, creating a site-specific installation interpreting its history in the context of contemporary artistic practices and the changing role of cultural institutions. The whole will be complemented by an archival section dedicated to the rich biography of this place, and the tour led by Zuzanna Andruszko will present the history of the gallery—from the times of the legendary Krzywe Koło Gallery to the current activities of the Promotional Gallery.
