The Barrel Organ Story

A journey back to the times when music required not electricity, but the movement of human hands. A meeting with Jan the Organ Grinder, who cultivates the tradition of the Warsaw Organ Grinder. It will be an opportunity to learn the history of mechanical instruments and hear their unique sound in a popular retro repertoire, while checking whether organ grinders were actually as unbearable as Bolesław Prus described in his famous novella The Barrel Organ(Katarynka). Here is the magic of old Warsaw, coming to life with every turn of the crank.
