In the 1960s, the space where Alina Gallery operates today served as the studio of sculptor Alina Szapocznikow. By using the artist’s name as the gallery’s name, the institution both commemorates her and, through the presentation and promotion of contemporary artistic strategies, demonstrates Szapocznikow’s creative approach.
